Arrival at Baltra´s Airport by TAME airline flight from Quito or Guayaquil. Our Naturalist guide will be waiting for you. Transfer to Santa Cruz Island by ferry across the Itabaca Channel and then by private taxi to Puerto Ayora. Stop in Los Gemelos, Scalesia Forest, and a Local ranch with Lava tunnels and wild tortoises. Arrival at the The Red Mangrove Inn. Small and cute, oceanfront. Jacuzzi. In the afternoon we will visit The Charles Darwin Research Station to see the tortoises breeding center. Land Iguanas. Finches.
Early departure to Floreana Island in a speedboat. We stop at Devil´s Crown, an underwater volcano, to snorkel with hundreds of reef fish where there also may be hammerheads, marine turtles, or manta rays. Lunch, and cruise to Black Beach in Puerto Velasco Ibarra, Floreana. In the afternoon we´ll take the only bus of the island to visit El Asilo de la Paz, the first human settlement where fresh water was found. Dinner and lodge at the only Hotel on the island, owned by the legendary Wittmer Family.
Departure by the speedboat to Puerto Villamil, Isabela Island. Visit visit by boat La Laguna de las Tintoreras, where we can see sharks, sea lions, and marine iguanas very closely. Galapagos penguins. Arrival at Marita´s House, a quaint and familiar beach front lodge. Italian style. Lunch in a typical place, usually fresh fish. We can visit the flamingo´s lagoon, take a stroll on the beach or just relax with the ocean view. Dinner
Early visit to the Sierra Negra Volcano, the second largest caldera in the world. We´ll take a bus there and then we can walk or take a horseback ride to the rim of the volcano where you’ll enjoy a spectacular view. A local guide always joins us to take care of the horses. Another hour walk will take us to the Volcan Chico, an amazing place for photographers. Pic-Nic. In the aftenoon, visit The Giant Tortoise Center and walk in the nice trails looking for migratory coastal birds. Lodge and Dinner.
Transfer to Isabela airport. Take a small plane to Baltra Airport. Take TAME second flight Baltra-Guayaquil-Quito. (It is necessary that this flight is 192 from TAME departing at 12:45)
